WE ARE WHO WE LOVE
Author and Rabbi Harold R. Kuschner writes, “We are who we love…. Writers on health and happiness have suggested that there is a basic human need for intimacy…we need to feel loved…
But we also need to give love, to make a difference in someone’s life.”
The question we need to ask then, is, who do we love? What takes our time, effort, money, energy and motivation? Only our achievements, our success, our economic goals?
Because who we really love can be noticed. In our use of our time, our interest and in our focus. In our attention, kindness, responsibility and patience. In our affection and words of affirmation.
Are we making a difference, a good and positive and useful difference, in the lives of our families? Of those surrounding us?
Who are you loving today in your life? Is it noticed?
