Epictetus, Greek philosopher and stoic, would explain that facing challenges or temptations should not be so much a cause for worry than celebration. A solid and firm character is developed when we face the challenges, if we choose to benefit from them.

When you are facing a problem in your life, choose to think you are equipped to overcome it. Each situation is an opportunity to develop skills and learn. Don’t see your problems as obstacles, but as doors towards other possibilities.

Facing pain and hardship, you can choose to depress and neglect yourself, or you can choose to get up and move on.

Facing an insult or an offense, you can choose dignity and respect.

Facing discouragement, you can choose faith and hope.

“Every challenge, every adversity, contains within it the seeds of opportunity and growth,” wrote Roy T. Bennett.

As you face your problems, think the following: This is an opportunity to do my best effort.

Romans 8:37 NCV: “But in all these things we are completely victorious through God who showed his love for us.”

Choose to grow, choose to move on, choose to walk in faith.

It’s the best way.
