sowing along the way
In Matthew 13:23 NKJV we read the words of Jesus: “But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”
A mailman called John Hand drove his mail truck through hills in California every day on his route. He noticed the road was plain, with hardly any color, so he decided to start throwing wild flower seeds out of the window as he passed. Today you can see that route blossoming with flowers in Los Altos Hills.
Each of us takes different roads along our lives. Many of us forget we have the opportunity to improve our environment. We can add beauty to our families, our jobs, our relationships. It’s all too easy to complain life is gray and dull, when we have the opportunity to brighten it with an attitude of joy, enthusiasm and encouragement to those around us.
Today is your chance to look about and ask yourself, what seeds of joy and hope can I sow around me today?
